Where we started

every project begins somewhere different.

sometimes my clients bring photographs, a memory, a piece of music or a feeling they want to hold onto. this project started with something i had never received before: a written description of someone’s personality.
i loved the idea immediately.

instead of focusing on a specific image or event, we built the design around the way she moves through life. that text became the foundation for the entire composition.

again and again, i find a way to stand back up. to move from darkness into light. to bring my scales back into balance.

An Idea in Words

“to me, this tattoo represents my emotional world. the darkness is the melancholy i find myself returning to, a part of who i am. but there is also lightness, openness and light. everything in balance.

again and again, i find a way to stand back up. to move from darkness into light. to bring my scales back into balance.”

THE TATTOO

one of my favourite parts of designing is that there is no single right starting point. a tattoo can begin with a memory, a sentence, a personality, a song, or simply a feeling that is difficult to put into words. my job is to translate whatever you bring into a visual language that feels unmistakably yours.
